Team Championship for 2010

For the 2010 Season, the CSL Cup will run a new ‘Team Series’. There are a number of 2-car or more teams, so to introduce a team standings and accommodate the grid increase there will be a competition between teams.

There are two options for the Team Series, either an average of points between drivers per race, or if car sharing – an accumulation of points from all races. This ensures no team can score more than 10 points per race. (The equivalent of winning.)

Example A.

Car Share

Driver A finishes 1st (10 pts) in Race 1 & Driver B finishes 3rd (6 pts) in Race 2.

They are racing for ‘Team 1’ and score 16 pts for the weekend.

Example B.

Team Entry

Driver C finishes 1st in Race 1,

Driver D finishes 4th in Race 1.

Driver C finishes 5th in Race 2,

Driver D finishes 3rd in Race 2, all for ‘Team 2’

Driver C Race 1: 10 pts

Driver D Race 1: 5 pts

Race 1 Average: 7.5 pts

Driver C Race 2: 4 pts

Driver D Race 2: 6 pts

Race 2 Average: 5 pts

Team 2’s total points for the weekend would be 12.5 pts.

Team 2 would then be 3.5 pts behind Team 1 in the Team Series Standings.

*All individual performances and points are still valid in the Drivers’ Standings.
