What a fantastic weekend for the CSL Cup! We had an 18 car grid, with the regulars of Stringfellow Motorsport, Tesco Momentum 99 Racing, Dmworx, and Intersport Racing. We saw the welcome return of Team Schirmer, Team Like2Bid, and had new entries with Torquespeed, JC Racing, and BMSport. John Thorne of Tesco Momentum 99 Racing was resting his E92 M3 so him return to his 2009 steed, the M3 CSL.

The MotorsTV Live Coverage of the CSL Cup Pembrey is now available!
A Welsh heat wave welcomed the CSL Cup at Pembrey for rounds 6, 7 & 8. We welcomed the regulars of Tesco Momentum 99 Racing, Stringfellow Motorsport, and the Like2Bid chaps. We also welcomed back Richard Mallinson in his E36 M3 and the Intersport guys with their E46 and their newly V8'd E92 M3. Testing on friday saw times dipping into the 59.0s, however temperatures rose for Saturday meaning tyre wear and vehicle setup would play a big part in the results - with the higher power cars not being able to pull away on the short Pembrey circuit.

The Live MotorsTV footage of Pembrey is now available!
The CSL Cup series is finally starting to grow, a couple of cars had to drop out due to not being ready in time but we welcomed two new drivers in Richard Mallinson and Kevin Clarke. Richard usually drives his E36 M3 in the Kumho Championship but the lure of slick tyres proved too much. Kevin was in his E46 GTR which won the Production class of the Britcar Championship last season as his new E92 M3 (similar to the Tesco Momentum 99 Racing one) wasn’t ready in time, both added extra names and colour to the grid. Also of note was the single car team of Mark and Adam now becoming a two car team, Expect two bright orange cars on the Pembrey grid.

Well, first race of the 2010 season and mixed results from everyone really. The series has doubled its grid size from this time last year but clashes with Britcar, Kumho BMW and GT Cup meant a few extra cars we were hoping for couldn’t attend so we were still pretty small in terms of grid. However what we lacked in numbers we made up for in quality, yet again the comments of the day were that the CSL Cup is the most impressive racing with the most impressive cars of the weekend.
